Who we are
PropertySift is operated by PropertySift
("we", "us"), the data controller for your personal data. Contact us via
our contact form.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, username and email address.
- Search preferences — the locations, budget, bedrooms and
feature criteria you enter, and the properties you favourite, dismiss or note.
- Usage data — logins, activity within the Service, and email
open/click events used to improve the Service.
- Payment data — handled by our payment provider (see below);
we do not store your card details.
- Technical data — IP address and basic device/browser
information, used for security and abuse prevention. When you sign in we
may derive an approximate, city-level location from your IP
address (looked up locally, not sent to any third party) to understand
roughly where the Service is used; the IP address itself is not kept
with that location.
How we use it & our lawful bases
- To provide the Service (run searches, score matches, send reports) —
performance of a contract.
- To manage billing and subscriptions — performance of a contract.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse — legitimate interests.
- To send service and match emails you've signed up for; you can opt out of
match/summary emails in your settings — contract / legitimate interests.
Sharing & third parties
We share data only as needed to run the Service:
- Payment provider (Paddle.com Market Ltd),
as Merchant of Record, to process payments and tax.
- Email delivery via Gmail / Google Workspace
to send your reports and account emails.
- Hosting / network via Cloudflare for delivery and security.
We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies
The dashboard uses essential cookies for login sessions and security (e.g. CSRF
protection). These are necessary for the Service to function.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period
afterwards as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes, then delete or
anonymise it. You can request deletion at any time (see below).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete,
restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability.
To exercise any right, use our contact form.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's
Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified by email or in the
Service.
